This image is inspired by a photograph I took of my nephew Luke and his son, Kyler entering the water at our family cottage on the Sable River in Nova Scotia. The dog was added to give relevance and context. The figures of the man and boy were made up of several applications of hand-dyed fabrics overlaid with chiffon to blend them. The water background setting was painted and then quilted.
